Wong Kar Wai produces novelist Zhang Jiajia's directorial debut See You Tomorrow, based on a story from his own book Passing From Your World. Tony Leung Chiu Wai and Takeshi Kaneshiro team up once again in their long overdue return to comedy. Adding to the star power are Angelababy (Rise of the Legend), Eason Chan (Office), Lynn Xiong (Ip Man), Du Juan (American Dreams in China) and Sandrine Pinna (A Touch of Light), plus cameo appearances by Lu Han (The Great Wall) and Chris Lee (Bodyguards and Assassins). Sprinkled with offbeat details, wacky set pieces and hilarious references, See You Tomorrow has the zany humor of an old-school Hong Kong comedy and the dazzling production values of a Jet Tone film, what with Peter Pau and Cao Yu on cinematography and WKW regulars Alfred Yau and William Chang on art direction and costume design. Besides the sumptuous visuals, the film's episodic structure and use of voiceover narration are also reminiscent of Wong Kar Wai works. Chen Mo (Tony Leung) runs a bar with his quirky friend Guan Chun (Takeshi Kaneshiro), but more importantly, he's a "ferryman" who helps clients navigate the pain of heartbreak. Neighbor Xiao Yu (Angelababy) seeks his guidance on how to help her idol Ma Li (Eason Chan), a singer reeling from his breakup with Jiang Jie (Lynn Xiong). At the same time, Guan Chun's first love, amnesiac pie shop owner Mao Mao (Sandrine Pinna), suddenly returns to town with no memory of him or the family recipe. While Guan Chun goes to ridiculous lengths to help Mao Mao, Chen Mo takes Xiao Yu under his wing, but the process awakens the memories of his own past love.

Picking up where You Are (Not) Alone left off, the second feature introduces two more EVA pilots - Asaka who moves in with Shinji and Misato and throws their world into further confusion, and new character Mari, a mysterious pilot from Europe. As the war against the Angels rages on, more light is shed on the true motives and powers behind NERV and Gendo Ikari and SEELE's secret project. Since the original 26-episode Neon Genesis Evangelion premiered in the mid-nineties, the anime's legend has only continued to grow, amounting to a small industry of manga, DVDs, action figures, model kits, and other merchandise that remains popular with anime fans worldwide. The series eventually hit the big screen, with a trilogy of films released in 1997, summarizing and capping off the series, but creator-director Anno Hideaki is not done with Evangelion yet. Starting in 2007, Evangelion is returning to screen with a revamped storyline and additional, improved animation in an ambitious teratology of films dubbed Rebuild of Evangelion. Winner of a Hong Kong Film Award for Best Picture, Once Upon a Time in China is a kung-fu epic that's wildly entertaining and historically relevant. It is the late 1800s and China is in turmoil. Western influence is threatening the pride and sovereignty of the Chinese people, who are being enslaved for foreign labor, or becoming addicted to opium. It falls upon Wong Fei Hung (Jet Li), a renowned doctor, healer, patriot, and kung-fu artist to stand up and be counted. Charged with protecting the region with his militia, Fei Hung becomes embroiled in political intrigue and martial arts rivalries as corrupt foreigners and corrupt Chinese attempt to gain control of the region. When a rival martial arts master joins the foreigners, Fei Hung faces his greatest challenge yet. Can he save his true love Yee (Rosamund Kwan), as well as right the wrongs against his beloved land of China? If one were to compile a list of essential Hong Kong Cinema, they would undoubtedly include director Tsui Hark's Once Upon a Time in China. In addition to being a revelatory work that combined kung-fu action, political allegory, and historical drama, Once Upon a Time in China revitalized the legend of Chinese patriot Wong Fei Hung, and launched a new series of films starring a character that had already been the subject of scores of previous films and television serials. For Western audiences, Once Upon a Time in China also provided martial arts superstar Jet Li with his signature role as Wong Fei Hung, a role that Li would reprise in four more films, including the 1997 blockbuster Once Upon a Time in China and America, which featured Wong Fei Hung in the Old West!

When Michael Tse's popular undercover cop character Laughing Gor was killed off in the 2009 TVB police drama E.U., fans mourned his death with online memorial services and a creative outpouring of grief. This unprecedented show of support led TVB to resurrect Laughing Gor on the big screen for the blockbuster spin-off prequel Turning Point. The first film to bear the Shaw Brothers logo since 2002's Drunken Monkey, the TVB-Shaw Brothers co-production is devoted to Laughing Gor's backstory, building the legend behind the struggling small-timer who would eventually become the swaggering, scenery-chewing undercover cop that Hong Kong audiences fell in love with. Though the leading character originates from the small screen, Turning Point's story is largely independent of the TV drama and requires no previous knowledge. Previously best known on the big screen as Ekin Cheng's sidekick in Young and Dangerous, Michael Tse makes an appealing lead as the twice-undercover caught between the police and the underworld, but what makes Turning Point especially exciting are all the other names attached. Jack-of-all-trades director Herman Yau (True Women for Sale) helms the crime actioner, while acclaimed actors Anthony Wong and Francis Ng make charismatic turns as rival triad leaders. Also making supporting appearances are action star Yuen Biao, Eric Tsang, Felix Wong, Wayne Lai, and TVB starlet Fala Chen in her film debut. For the TV drama fans, there are also crossover cameos from E.U. stars Ron Ng and Sammul Chan. Undercover cop-turned-triad leader One (Anthony Wong) sends his underling Laughing (Michael Tse) undercover into the police force. But the police send him back into the triads to be an undercover under One! Laughing walks the line passing intel between the two sides, but he's running for his life from both sides of the law after a botched drug bust leaves his handler (Yuen Biao) comatose, and underworld bosses Zatoi (Francis Ng) and Fook (Eric Tsang) out for his head.

Hong Kong superstars Leslie Cheung and Andy Lau clash in Tsui Hark's big-screen adaptation of the classic TVB drama The Bund! Directed by Poon Man Kit (To Be Number One), the film revisits the dangerous underworld in 1930s Shanghai where heroes and villains fight for power, women, and honor, with Leslie and Andy taking on the roles played by Chow Yun Fat and Ray Lui in the original. Condensing the essence of a TV series into a feature-length movie is certainly no small challenge, and Shanghai Grand has made some daring changes to the plots and characters that make it fresh even for fans of the 1980 series. Having Tung Wai onboard as action choreographer ensures exciting gunplay action, and the period action drama boasts an impressive supporting cast that includes Ning Jing (In the Heat of the Sun), Wu Hsing Kuo (Green Snake), Lau Shun, singer Amanda Lee, and Korean actor Jung Woo Sung (Reign of Assassins). Enlisted in Japanese-occupied Taiwan, patriotic young man Hui Man Keung (Leslie Cheung) is dispatched to fight in the northeastern China. In a mission gone awry, he barely escapes from an ambush that leaves all of his fellow rebels dead, only to be saved in Shanghai by small-time gangster Ding Lik (Andy Lau). The two become sworn brothers, joining hands in a bid to make a name for themselves in the gang world of Shanghai. However, their friendship is tested when both Lik and Keung fall for Fung Ching Ching (Ning Jing), the daughter of powerful tycoon Fung King Yiu (Wu Hsing Kuo). But when Keung finds out that Fung is the man behind the ambush on the anti-Japanese rebels, he must choose between his love for Ching Ching and his loyalty to the fallen comrades...

Rebuild of EVANGELION - Evangelion: 1.11 You Are (Not) Alone comes with the digitally remastered version of Evangelion: You Are (Not) Alone with new cut scenes. Neon Genesis Evangelion is back - not that it ever really went anywhere. Since the original 26-episode TV series premiered in the mid-nineties, the anime's legend has only continued to grow, amounting to a small industry of manga, DVDs, action figures, model kits, and other merchandise that remains popular with anime fans worldwide. The series eventually hit the big screen, with a trilogy of films released in 1997, summarizing and capping off the series, but creator Anno Hideaki is not done with Evangelion yet. With a revamped storyline and additional, improved animation, Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone brings the series back to the big screen, leading off an ambitious teratology of films dubbed Rebuild of Evangelion. Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone retells roughly the first six episodes of Neon Genesis Evangelion, including Shinji Ikari's reunion with his estranged father, Gendo Ikari, and Shinji's introduction to EVA-01, the giant robot he's destined to pilot. Key characters Misato Katsuragi and Rei Ayanami are introduced, and viewers are given their first taste of the series' famously deep storyline, which mixes science fiction, war, psychology, theology, and existentialism into a single compelling work. Evangelion is famous for delivering not one, but two separate endings via the television series and the theatrical film End of Evangelion, and fandom has long been divided on which, if any of the endings truly fits the series. Creator-director Anno has the rare chance to return to his work a third time to deliver yet another possible ending to the saga, but Anno also promises that this new work will be accessible and enjoyable for both new and old Evangelion fans.

International superstar Jet Li is an Indiana Jones-type adventurer AND a bookish writer in the hilarious, action-packed adventure-comedy Dr. Wai in the Scripture with No Words! Li is a harried author who pens the serial adventures of Dr. Wai, a grave-robbing adventurer in 1930s China. In his current story, Dr. Wai is chasing a mystical treasure (the "Scripture with No Words"), but must contend with rival grave robbers and dastardly Japanese soldiers. Complicating matters are Dr. Wai's sidekicks (Takeshi Kaneshiro and Charlie Yeung), and a sexy femme fatale (Rosamund Kwan) who may or may not be an ally in his quest. However, back in reality, the author has other - not entirely coincidental - issues: a pending divorce to his estranged wife (also Rosamund Kwan), and a couple of sparring office assistants (also Takeshi Kaneshiro and Charlie Yeung) who insist on writing themselves into the latest Dr. Wai adventures! Will the author finish his story, or will these other would-be writers take over his creation? Fact, fiction, fantasy, and high-flying kung-fu collide in this charming adventure from director Ching Siu-Tung (A Chinese Ghost Story).

The first chapter lays the roots for the visionary trilogy's ambitious tale about a group of friends who emerge as unlikely heroes in the battle against an apocalyptic evil they had unwittingly foretold as children. More than just a good vs. evil doomsday saga, 20th Century Boys makes for a positively epic exercise in filmmaking and storytelling that spans multiple generations and genres, and bites into conspiracy theory, pop culture nostalgia, and spectacular special effects. Helmed by hit-making director Tsutsumi Yukihiko (Memories of Tomorrow), 20th Century Boys is certainly one of the greatest undertakings Japan Cinema has ever seen, with its six billion yen budget and staggeringly long cast list that runs 300 deep. Karasawa Toshiaki (Casshern) leads the ensemble cast that includes Tokiwa Takako (Mamiya Kyodai), Toyokawa Etsushi (The Sinking of Japan), Kagawa Teruyuki (Sukiyaki Western - Django), and Sasaki Kuranosuke (After School). Kenji (Karasawa Toshiaki) used to be a wannabe rocker but, now in his thirties, he's back in his hometown running a convenience store and taking care of his baby niece. All seems quiet and uneventful in Kenji's life, save for the worried whispers about the rise of a cult led by a masked man who calls himself "Friend". The cult's logo seems eerily familiar, as do the news of mysterious deaths and terrorist acts around the world. Back in the summer of 1969, Kenji and his buddies sketched for fun a Book of Prophecy that predicted the world's end. Twenty-eight years later, the scenarios laid out in the Book of Prophecy are coming true one by one, and all fingers point to "Friend". As friends and foes of the past reappear for mankind's last stand, can Kenji fulfill his own prophecy and save the world?

The latest retelling of The Legend of the White Snake, the US$25 million Sorcerer stars Eva Huang (Kung Fu Hustle) as a lovelorn demon and international superstar Jet Li as a Buddhist monk determined to keep natural law in order at any cost. Hong Kong-based writers Tsang Kan Cheong (Shaolin Soccer) and Szeto Cheuk Han (Mr. Vampire), as well as veteran action director Ching Siu Tung (Swordsman) bring together spectacular fantasy action, state-of-the-art special effects, and a stirring tale of forbidden love for the perfect Chinese blockbuster. Five years in the making, Yoshinaga Fuyumi's award-winning comic Ooku: The Inner Chambers finally arrives on the big screen with The Lady Shogun and Her Men. Depicting a fictional world in which women took up traditional male positions after a mysterious disease wiped out a majority of the male population, the series has been lauded for its ability to give a fresh spin on the Japanese period drama through gender reversals of social roles. Planned at the beginning of the comic series' run, the adaptation by writer Takahashi Natsuko (Hana Yori Dango TV series) and director Kaneko Fuminori (Kisarazu Cat's Eye) tells the story of the first series' first chapter. In it, Arashi's Ninomiya Kazunari (Letters From Iwo Jima) plays a man who enters the court of the Edo Castle and ends up becoming the chosen lover of the new shogun, played by Shibasaki Kou (Suspect X). The hit period drama also co-stars Horikita Maki (Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac) and Tamaki Hiroshi (Nodame Cantabile). In the year 1716, a mysterious disease wipes out a majority of men, leaving only one man for every four woman. Gender roles have been reversed, with women taking traditional male roles and men becoming little more than reproduction tools. To save his family, 19-year-old Mizuno (Ninomiya Kazunari) enters the Inner Chamber in the Edo Castle, leaving his girlfriend Onobu (Horikita Maki) behind. There, Mizuno skillfully wins over schemers like Matsushima (Tamaki Hiroshi), eventually becoming the Chamber Groom. Meanwhile, when the young shogun dies, Yoshimune (Shibasaki Kou) is appointed to take over as the shogun. After Mizuno catches her attention, Yoshimune decides to name Mizuno her first bedmate. However, the job comes with potentially fatal consequences for everyone involved.

The acclaimed 2008 crime thriller The Beast Stalker solidified director Dante Lam's status as the new king of Hong Kong action cinema. He and his writer Jack Ng return two years later on the thematic follow-up The Stool Pigeon, which again delivers in the pulse-raising action, breathtaking suspense, and heart-rending characterization that pulls the audience into the compelling drama and surprising plot twists. Again treading the gray area between right and wrong, the Stalker stars Nick Cheung and Nicholas Tse have a reversal of roles in Stool. Winning an unprecedented seven Best Actor awards in the last outing, Cheung is a conflicted cop struggling between his duty and conscience this time as Nicholas Tse becomes the two-bit criminal forced to cooperate with him as his stool pigeon. Joining them are Taiwan actress Guey Lun Mei and Mainland actor Lu Yi, who both play against type as tough gangsters. Stalker's Liu Kai Chi, Miao Pu, and Sherman Chung return to co-star in the tense and gritty caper hit, while Chin Ka Lok and Wong Wai Fai, the action choreographer team behind Lam's Fire of Conscience earlier this year, are responsible for the film's thrilling car chases and visceral fight scenes. After tackling genres like dark comedy and even family melodrama, director Pang Ho Cheung further extends the range of his filmography with the controversial slasher thriller Dream Home, also the explosive debut of 852 Films, founded by actress Josie Ho, actor-musician Conroy Chan, and Andrew Ooi. As co-producer and star, Ho takes on the role of a lifetime as a woman who will do just about anything to get her hands on her dream property. Pang - who co-write the script with Derek Tsang and Jimmy Wan (Isabella) - cleverly breaks the story into fragments, inserting calm scenes of drama in between disturbing sequences of bloody carnage. Filled with disembowelments, slicing, and more ways of using household products than anyone would care to know, the film's extreme violence is so intense that walkouts and faintings have been reported at screenings around the world. However, Dream Home is more than just blood and guts. Chronicling the frustrations of an average Hong Kong citizen trying to own a home in the city's out-of-control real estate market, Dream Home is as much an extremely dark comedy as it is an angry indictment of contemporary Hong Kong. On a quiet night, a woman breaks into the prestigious No. 1 Victoria Bay residential building and brutally murders its security guard. The ensuing flashbacks reveal that the woman is Sheung (Josie Ho), an average white-collar worker trying to save money for a unit in No. 1 Victoria Bay, despite her father's illness and the lack of support from her married boyfriend (Eason Chan). However, in a city where real estate prices continue to rise at an out-of-control pace, Sheung's opportunity is taken away by her unit's money-hungry owners. Determined to get her dream home, Sheung is forced to secure her home via the most extreme way possible - by murdering those that live near the flat (played by Michelle Ye, Sin Lap Man, Derek Tsang, Phat Chan, and Juno Mak).
